The South-West Oltenia Regional Development Agency organized an economic mission in Tokyo, Japan, in the period: the 24th – 31st of October 2016, aiming to create a solid business environment that would support the development of the SME sector at a regional level.
The economic mission was organized under the auspices of Enterprise Europe Network and it aimed at promoting regional SMEs on an international scale and facilitating the establishment of some business partnerships between companies with common interests in Romania and Japan.
The event was a multi-sectoral one, focusing mainly on areas such as: research and development in natural sciences (import of equipment and technology), textiles, tourism, advertising, HoReCa, start-ups establishment, business consultancy, training services.
The Romanian companies had the opportunity to get to know the Japanese market by participating in a series of bilateral meetings within the Japan Home Show 2016 & Shop Design 2016, JAPANTEX 2016 and SMART ENGINEERING TOKYO 2016 fairs.
The program also included a visit to the EU-Japan Industrial Cooperation Center, as well as a visit to the Embassy of Romania in Japan, which aimed at exploring the possibilities for cooperation between Romanian and Japanese companies in order to socially and economically develop to the benefit of both countries.
