Within the framework of the European SESAME Net project, an online tool has been implemented that allows companies to evaluate their potential to obtain benefits through the use of high performance computing (High Performance Computing – HPC) for free.

Some of the small and middle sized companies do not know the opportunities offered by high-performance computing, considering that they are only accessible to large companies that allocate budget for the research / development area. In the last few years, however, the High Performance Computing service delivery modality has changed so that any company can access hardware and software resources through the “pay as you go” model.

Numerous companies in different sectors across Europe (product design, manufacturing, financial analysis etc.) have successfully used the High Performance Computing technology, with a return on investment in such technologies of at least 10.

The only thing an interested company has to do is join the SESAME Net community and fill in a questionnaire. Based on the responses to the questionnaire, an evaluation report shall be generated automatically indicating the strengths and weaknesses in terms of the company’s potential to obtain benefits by using High Performance Computing as well as a set of recommendations to improve that potential.

During and outside the evaluation process, the SESAME Net team provides support through the intermediary of the online technical forum, training materials, specific consultancy etc.

The questionnaire can be accessed at: http://www.network.sesamenet.eu
