Through the SMEs tool, the European Union funds the most innovative small businesses with a high growth potential. The tool, which has a budget of approximately 3 billion Eur for a period of seven years, provides simple and fast grants for feasibility studies on entrepreneurial innovation (phase 1) and for demonstrative projects (phase 2). Additionally, sufficiently mature concepts to attract investment can also benefit from business development counseling and from other support services (phase 3).
